Transformation Movies

So, if you are into captions, you might be interested in Transformation movies too. I have gained quite a collection of them over the years from Mako, Siren, and Three Degrees Off Center. If you have never seen any of these, some of them are worth checking out.

One of my favorites is Eleven. I was kind of sick of the comedy version of boy turns into girl, like It's a Boy/Girl Thing, not that there isn't anything wrong with that movie. But they all seem to be comedies. Eleven is the first "Horror" film version of a transformation movie.

It is basically about a guy and his friend who visit a place called Pleasure Island. Sound familiar? It is a twisted version of Pinnochio. In Pinnochio, he ditches school to hang out with his friends, and a wolf picks them up and takes them to a place called Pleasure Island, where the kids can do whatever they want. But as the night progresses all the bad boys turn into donkeys. Pinnochio escapes, but is left with donkey ears and a tail.

Eleven started to follow that path, but strayed way off the mark. The main character is talking to his friend about the bill, and they decide they will take off and skip out on it, because neither of them can afford it. As penance for this, they are turned into girls to work as whores at the hotel.

The transformation scene in Eleven is mind blowing. They dedicated a lot of time and effort into it. I don't think I have ever seen a transformation quite like this one, not even in a cartoon.

However, the production value is a little bit horrible. You can tell it is extremely low budget. The park they are at looks like it is on a boardwalk somewhere, and the hotel room is more like a Motel 6, I find it hard to believe that the bill would be very expensive for a weekend there.

I will be the first to say that there are so many holes in the plot, that you aren't liable to catch them all the first time you watch it. The very worst for me is that they use a rotary phone to call a computer operated system. For anyone that doesn't get why that is a problem, computer systems need a touch tone phone to operate. When you push a number, it makes a distinguishable tone that the computer reads to know what button you are pushing. ie a rotary phone does not make those tones.

There are many more holes just like this one, and they tried to through another layer in the plot that does not come through in the story. In fact, they made a short on Youtube to try and build off it.

But all in all the transformation scene, along with the attempt at a horror version, makes this one of my favorite transformation movies of all time. Below is a clip, I got off of Youtube.

Mako also has one in the series called "The Kiss." By far this is the absolute worst movie I have ever seen. The plot is horrible, the acting sucks, and the movie makes little sense at all. The only reason why I bought it is because I wanted to keep the entire Siren Song collection. If you need them all then by all means, get it. But if you don't care about having all three, I would not waste your money.

The last one in the Siren Song Collection is "The Last Piece Standing." I would highly recommend this one over the other two if you just want to own one. The plot is somewhat original. I never would have thought of it. It's based after September 11th. It uses the idea that terrorists succeeded in another attack on the U.S. This time, they poison our water supply with a disease that kills only women.

This is ingenious. I mean if you think about all these guys walking around with all that pent up frustration. There would be mass casualties because of it, let alone reproduction grinding to a halt. But the stupid terrorist that created this plan didn't think that water flows everywhere and soon it gets into the oceans and across the world, and now the female population is cut to very little. The few remaining women that seem to be immune to the virus are hidden away in labs to be experimented on, or they are extremely overpriced call girls. Supply and demand at its finest.

A mans wife contracts the virus and he had heard a rumor that there was a doctor in the mountains that found a cure. So he goes on the hunt for this doctor. He meets another guy while hiking in the mountains and spend the night at the guy's house. The guy is super smart, and sest this guy up for his own gain. But I will leave it at that because I don't want to ruin anything for you who have not seen it.

The story is well written and the acting is fairly good. It has ghosts, transformations and killing. What else can you ask for? It is a black and white style movie, but that adds so much to it ominous subject matter. The only real hole it had is in the end, but I can't ruin it for you. When you watch it, it will become very obvious.

As I am writing this, I went to Youtube to Download a clip for you, but they happen to have the full movie up there. I would suggest watching it. You can find it here.

I still have to talk about Siren Tales, but I will save those for a later time.

Also, I own "Identity Theft" from Three Degrees Off Center. This one has comedy, drama, and a little bit of confusion. I really liked it a lot. I know that "Hit Girl" came out from them, but I have not seen it yet. So for TDOC, I will save them for another time, too.

Kisses,
Quinn
